The purpose of the policy and procedure is helping parent(s) to get acquaintance and have an understanding with LTDP procedure and goals. We want every child/and children to have an exciting and fun learning experience with nurturing and caring atmosphere for your child. You are not expected to read and remember all of it today, but use it as a reference source. This information is a more detailed review of more important items intended for parents registering their child/children, and what is expected of the parents.

Trial Period
The trial period will be two weeks. This period is used to observe the child’s adjustment to care and to talk about concerns. I will talk to you daily about your child’s day. Please tell me if you have any concerns. After a two-week trial period, we will determine if the child care services are satisfactory to everyone. If any problems cannot be resolved, the care is terminated and any unused portion of the child care fee will be refunded.

Items Brought From Home
The daycare provider is not responsible for any broken or lost item or toy brought from home with the child.
Mandated Reporter
As a State of Washington, Licensed Professional~Daycare Provider, We are a Mandated Reporters. We are required to report suspected child abuse or maltreatment – or cause a report to be made – when, in their professional roles, they are presented with reasonable cause to suspect abuse or maltreatment.
Hours of Operation and Daily Activity Schedule*
Hours and Days of Operation* The child care program is open twenty four hours a day and seven days a week except holidays. Parents are welcome to visit their children at any time during the day.
Night-time and Weekend Care. My program does offer night-time and weekend care.
Rest Period. All children under the age 5 are required to have a rest period. No child is forced to sleep. They must remain quiet.
Toilet Learning. I will assist your child in toilet training; your child with the understanding that it will be successful only if we work together.
Guidance. No child will be hit, spanked, belittled or otherwise intimidated at LTDP-even with parental permission. No corporal punishment will be used on the premises by anyone including parents. Children will be treated with respect, patience and courtesy. Younger children and toddlers will be redirected to another activity. Older children will be given time outs depending on the severity of the offense (l minute per year of age, never to be more than 15 minutes. If a child become persistent behavior problem, I will address it with you, and we will try to resolve it together.
Pets. The children will not be exposed to any pet at LTDP.
No Smoking. Smoking is prohibited in the family home daycare and in motor vehicle during business hours.
Emergencies. In case of disaster of any kind, we have prepared the child care for evacuating the children and have emergencies supplies for up to seventy-two hours. Supplies include: Drinking water, non-perishable food, first aid supplies, battery operated radio, flashlight, fire extinguisher, diapers and formula for infants, emergency documents and phone number and garbage bags. The children will practice emergency procedure and evacuation each month.
Health Matters. Illness: Under no circumstance is a sick child to attend LTDP. The children should be allowed to recover fully from an illness in the comfort of their own home. A doctor's note is required upon return to daycare.
Medications. No child will be given any medication, prescription or over the counter, unless written permission is given by the parent. Prescription medication shall have the child's name, name of the medication, Doctor's name, name of pharmacy, prescription number, date, directions for administering. The medication must be in the original container as dispensed by the pharmacy. All medications will be logged on Medication Administration Record form, and all medications including the bottle will be given back to parent. Parent must sign the logged Medication Administration Record form that he/she received the medications and container.
Injury Prevention. At LTDP takes precaution to prevent injury of children. Accidents may occur. Any injury or incident will be document, a copy will be given to you when you pick-up your child. If your child comes to daycare with a mark(s) upon arriving at the daycare. You must sign injury report and goes into your child file, if you refused to sign injury report, your child will not have daycare that day until injury report is signed.
Extra Clothes. Accident can very much happen with our little one. We are asking that parent to bring two-under wears, two-pants and two-tops (shirts) or (blouses). For infants, please bring our baby extra clothes, formula, food and diapers of a week supplies.
Washing/Sanitizing:
In an effort to keep the participants in our program healthy, we take appropriate measures to reduce illness and keep maintain cleanliness. Everyday toys, napping cots and furniture are washed with antibacterial soap, sanitized with a diluted bleach solution, rinsed and air dried. Since COVID-19, we cleaned and disinfected mats, toys, computers and school's supplies, etc. Also, at the end of each work day, the floors are swept, vacuumed and mopped as needed. Laundry:
Bibs, sheets, towels are laundered after each use. We require that a parent take home their children’s blankets and clothes each week to launder them and return them. We do not do children’s laundry. If a child has soiled a clothing item, we will place it in a tied plastic bag and place it in a child’s cubby to be taken home that day.
Hand Washing:
The most common, effective and preventive practice to avoid illnesses is hand washing. Every child and adult in the program follows the hand washing steps as directed by the Public Health Nurse. We wash hands when entering the classroom, before and after preparing bottles or food, before and after eating, changing a diaper, administering medicine, after touching bodily fluids or excretions and as needed throughout the day. In between hand washing, we use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.
House Rules of Little Tots Daycare & Preschool
No hitting, biting, pinching, throwing, pushing, hair pulling or otherwise hurting ourselves or others.
No intentionally breaking anything.
No running, jumping, wrestling, climbing in the house or on the furniture.
No picking up babies or toddlers and rock.
No leaving the house or yard without permission.
No name calling, yelling, foul language or teasing.
All food and drink will remain in the dining room.
No gum on the premises.
No climbing over the daycare gate and neither the parents. Remember children will follow parents what they see what you do in their present.
No talking back or argue with staff and peers. (Staff will respect each child and speak with a calm voice at all time).
Must flush the toilet and turn off restroom light
No tolerate of misbehavior from the parents entering into the daycare; parents must show respect at all times, and parents must keep their child in control when they are arriving at the daycare.
No parents allowed in the daycare as children are resting. I have to keep all children in a 6 ft. social distancing from everyone. Parents are allowed to sign-in/out in the lobby area, not in the classroom due to COVID-19 and keeping everyone safe!
Arrival and Pick-up

Parents must bring their child/children into my home and sign them in. The parent must also come in to pick up their child in order to sign them out. - Please identify on the Child Care Home Register who is authorized to pick up your child. I will not release your child to any person without your written permission or a confirmed telephone call in the case of an emergency. The person picking up your child must have identification.
- Anyone who appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol arriving at child care to pick up a child will be asked to call someone else to pick up that child. If a person leaves with a child while they appear to be under the influence, I will call 911.
